"Cumulative Voting"

OUR NEW VOTING METHOD FOR TRUSTEES ON THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Cumulative voting is a proven voting system used in our Village since 2010 to elect Trustees on the Board of Trustees.

In the Village Election, candidates for trustees run and are elected village-wide.

As a voter, you have six votes to cast for the trustees on the Board of Trustees with the freedom to distribute your votes as you please. For example, you may cast one vote or more than one vote or all of your votes for your favorite candidate.

Cumulative Voting does not apply toward the Mayoral Candidates.

How to Vote with Cumulative Voting

A voting method where:

  • You vote to elect more than one trustee
  • All trustee candidates run against one another
  • You have as many votes as trustees being elected (6)
  • You can award your six (6) votes for Trustee in any combination you want. That means you can give more than one vote to a candidate
  • The top six Trustee candidates with the most votes will win
